When EA doesn't respond "on demand" on social forums, people make up what they want, or clamor EA isn't listening and doesn't care about their opinion.

The REAL answer to this question is a personal answer. I'd say that EVERY game released is built upon collective "feedback" from play testers to managers to community, so the notion that they don't listen is more personal and nearsighted, and skewed to specific "missing" content, and its not a general practice of any major company looking to profit. Its not as bad as many haters claim it to be, it's just not as good or mature as 2K currently is, that's all.ģ. The funny part to me is, if LIVE started this as a kick starter, with promised bells and whistles, people would have given their money in droves, without even seeing a demo, but won't buy the game post release based on others' reviews. Generally its not hopeful, constructive, or positive,(yes i understand why) and generally, to change a product we have to change our approach to its development, and possibly take a leap of faith, as we do so often in other games we are "loyal" to just because of the game's name, series, or developer.

It starts here, on the forums, with us IMO, and our tone towards developers and the LIVE series development in general. If the "community" journalists aren't even writing positive or informative LIVE specific articles that appear on LIVE's splash page, the main advertisement page for the sub forum, how can you expect any positive LIVE interest?(I've mentioned this before) In contrast, we are flooded with 2k info everywhere. EA's Hockey, EA's FIFA, EA's Madden, MLB The Show, and of course 2K, all get their own articles on their own splash pages. Live doesn't even get respect in its own OS forum space, instead NBA 2K articles are shown on Live's "own"splash/advertising page. There are some here who actually test with an intent to feedback the results to the community and devs, whether it be sliders, settings, content additions, etc, but we need more than just a few to truly have an impact in the process. True feedback will require some to take a sterile tester approach, instead of copy and pasting articles and opinions from other people.
#NBA LIVE 18 FROSTBITE HOW TO#
Any attempt to give constructive criticism or noting good features and improvements from the community, or how to pull off certain things, is often met with "still sucks" or "I'm not seeing that", not to mention directly attacking Devs worth. Live team has admitted deficiencies throughout their process, but this community as a whole, generally gives more "this sucks" feedback than "constructive" feedback, and LIVE devs presumably have to scour through more hate mail than anything else to get good data. By delaying the release early, they are being up front and informative.Ģ.

5 versions of current consoles to be released) and beyond, will ultimately determine who gets our future NBA video game dollars, and that's what it appears EA is interested in with this upcoming project, while conceding the loss this gen. The upcoming renewed console wars (whatever they are calling the upcoming. Looking back, I think seeing the sales deficit in front of them, LIVE intended to build a basketball option from the ground up, from the beginning and didn't seek to dethrone 2K at all as some may have suggested and wanted. Current technology advances faster than any 3 year "plan" today, so the updates (annual for some games) are needed to stay "competitive", and any complaints about another 3yr cycle today is somewhat moot, with regards to the speed at which the tech world is progressing. Yes, as they all should going forward, IMO. I'd rather discuss why this is the best thing since sliced bread, lol.ġ.

If we can address these in future releases, count me in!!! Will the community give constructive feedback instead of downplaying significant issues and accepting the same mediocre product year after year? Will they actually take community feedback and develop features that are requested year after year?ģ. Will this engine need another "3 year plan" for it to be functional and playable? We've been through 2 of these cycles already the last 6 years.Ģ. Let's skip the whole "this is the best thing since slice bread" thing and get to the good questions:ġ.
